Greg Robinson Many thanks to all who bid Greg Robinson a fond farewell and made financial contributions. As many of you may know the decision to leave us was a difficult one for Greg. He has family responsibilities on the East Coast that are calling him away. The Survey Says Results of our survey on Music in the Lobby indicates that the majority of respondents want soft easy listening instrumental music in the lobby. If you have not already voiced your opinion on this topic you can still do so on our website and click on the “Lobby Music Survey” Button. Flooding & Water Damage We had yet another flood in the building and thankfully it was not related to the pressure valve changes made this past week. The incident began with an overflowing toilet on the 33rd floor that penetrated the 32nd floor (in an unoccupied unit) and ended up at the 31st floor (where work had already begun on some modifications to a unit). The end result was avoidable damage and many hours of frustration for all parties concerned. Had a Water Detection System been in place this could have been detected early. This further illustrates the importance of getting the system installed in our building. Windows Window Washing is currently taking place in the building and will continue into August. In addition to cleaning the windows, the current job includes the cleaning of ledges and air vents. Safety To those in the building who disregard the signs posted in the parking garage and on the street level of the property – be forewarned – you risk injury to another and a lawsuit. We are referring to residents who flagrantly ignore the one-way signs, speed limits, and stop signs. To the rest of the residents in the building who are abiding by the signs, rules and regulations – Thank you, and you are asked to report any and all violators. Recycling & Cooperation Again it seems that some of the residents choose to ignore signs. Our hard working cleaning and maintenance staff have far more important things to do than breaking down cardboard boxes. The time they have to spend on this takes away from the time we need them to be keeping the building clean and safe. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. PLEASE break down all card board boxes before disposing of them near the trash bins. Many thanks to all who are doing their part to recycle responsibly. Garbage Disposers It is generally agreed that garbage disposers in high rise buildings are a bad idea primarily because of the way they are used. Unlike an individual free standing residence, a high rise tower is far more complex and this includes the network of plumbing that is adversely affected by garbage flushed down the drain. Even though a disposer pulverizes garbage it is not enough to prevent long term clogging problems in the system. You are asked to use your garbage disposer sparingly and to place virtually ALL of your non-recyclable garbage (including food waste) into plastic bags. Those bags must then be tied closed before placing them into the garbage shoot. Avoid dumping any fat, oil or grease down the drains as this will also cause clogging. Pool Information The pool and spa become the focal point for warm weather activities and as such, here are a few reminders. Please shower before entering the pool or spa, as tanning lotions will make the filtration systems not filter the pool and spa water sufficiently. Please use a towel when using the deck furniture to prevent sun screen & tanning lotions from staining and deteriorating the webbing. Safety First! Please know where the shepherds’ crook, life-ring, and spa emergency shut-off (red) switch is located. Please read all of the posted Pool Rules as a refresher and be considerate of all the Residents of the Pinnacle. Bottles and glass are not permitted in any commercial pool; the Pinnacle Tower is no exception. Your beverages may be in cans or in plastic containers. Smoking Smoking is prohibited in all common areas of the Pinnacle Tower, this includes but is not limited to the Lobby and ALL of the second floor (inside and out). HOA Website Be sure to visit our website. It is loaded with information that is of importance to all residents of the Pinnacle Tower. www.pinnacletower.org Your Contributions as a Resident What you have to say about life at the Pinnacle is worth sharing and that is why we have a Comment Box in the Lobby as well as on-line on the website. Please take a moment to share your suggestions & comments regarding life at the Pinnacle. Official HOA Calendar To assist homeowners at the Pinnacle we have a Calendar on the website that provides availability information regarding the Amenity Suite, Guest Suite, Pinnacle Theater & Freight Elevator. Also on the Calendar are dates of meetings and Pinnacle events. The Calendar is maintained by our conscientious staff. You can view the calendar in three different formats – weekly, monthly or agenda layout. You can also filter what you see on the calendar. www.pinnacletower.org/calendar Need a Vendor? Are you in need of a plumber, electrician, designer, etc? Check with the Lobby Desk. Our Concierge can provide you with lists of resident recommended or preferred vendors. Conservation Please remember to turn off lights, TVs, sound equipment, etc when you are the last person to leave the Amenity Suite, Pinnacle Fitness Room, Sauna, and Restrooms on the second floor. With the costs of utility bills rising it is important to remember that we ALL pay for the electricity consumed by every individual in the common areas of the building. A report on our water usage in the Pinnacle will be in the next newsletter. Everyone in San Diego must be aware that water conservation is a vital factor. Use water wisely and sparingly. Rules and Regulations It is desirable to live in an environment that works well.
