Next Board Meeting is
Aug 24, 2006
4pm Executive Session
6pm Regular Session

v Minutes from the June & July Board Meetings have been posted to our website   v

Homeowner Surveys - all owners are encouraged to complete the new one as it asks questions to verify the fobs and remotes they have in their possession, whether or not they are moved in, if this is their primary residence, a list of permanent guests, and emergency contact information.  Rich Giondomenico has been working to distribute parking stickers based on the previous contact sheets given, but unfortunately many people did not complete that portion of the earlier contact sheets.

New - More Secure Homeowner website - In an effort to provide improved security for our website some changes have been made and a new user name & password are required.  Some features on the website may be temporarily unavailable during the upgrade.  To access the site use the following:  username:  pinnaclesd      password: Tower550    (case sensitive)

Several Friendly Reminders:

  • Do not store items in common areas, including on top of storage units and parking spaces.

  • The Board requests that owners and residents be vigilant and make every effort to avoid unpleasant episodes and if they see any to attempt as best they can to diffuse them.

  • No hosing or excess water to be used to clean balconies.

  • No tipping of the Concierge staff.  (This is a condition of our contract with CAL)  A 'Holiday Fund' will be available later this year to all residents who wish to give a monetary contribution.

  • Please keep your unit front doors locked at all times - even when your are home.

  • Please observe all posted signs in the garage.  Speeding is dangerous and could result in damage and injury.  Park only in your designated parking space.

  • Be careful when entering the garage. Make sure to use the remote every time when entering and exiting.  It is recommended that you not follow another vehicle into the garage. There have been problems with the garage gates closing on cars.  Always use caution when entering and exiting the garage.

  • Owners must take responsibility for their pets to avoid serious fines.

  • Hazardous Materials:  Please leave your household hazardous materials next to the Recycle Bin on the Ground Floor (not in garage) and staff put it with other materials to be picked up.

Common Area Restrooms - the Lockers in the restrooms on the 2nd floor are for the temporary day use convenience of Pinnacle Tower homeowners.  If you padlock a locker be sure to remove the contents and the padlock when you are finished using it for the day.  You should never leave a locker padlocked overnight.

Letter to the Editor:

Thank you again for your informative newsletters! It is truly appreciated!

I especially liked the reminder about watering on balconies, as we have many water spots on our balcony windows from homeowners above. Also, we have had a problem of cigarette butts landing on our balconies from "homeowners" above. Maybe next month, this could be included in your newsletter. Also a reminder for the smokers that are out on the pool deck, to refrain from extinguishing and disposing of the butts in the planters.

Editor's Note:  There have been several incidents reported of cigarette butts being tossed onto neighbors balconies.  This is very bad form and inconsiderate.  No ifs and or butts about it.

Parking Stickers -  It is imperative that all residents of the Pinnacle have the new Pinnacle Logo parking stickers visible on their vehicles.  This is the only way that the staff can make certain that only authorized vehicles are in the garage at all times.  For Guests who are visiting homeowners please see the concierge. Amanda has received word staff will begin enforcing disciplinary actions against owners who do not have a sticker displayed on their vehicle as of September 1, 2006.  Rich and Amanda are currently working on a solution for owners who primarily rent vehicles and/or allow their guests to park in their deeded spaces.  An update will be forthcoming.

FOR SALE: TWO TANDEM "P3" PARKING SPACES. PINNACLE PROPERTY OWNERS ONLY.  CALL 858-208-9810 FOR DETAILS.

Dryer Vents - Consider this your endless reminder to clear your interior dryer vents (not just the ones inside your dryer but also the one in the wall).  It cannot be stressed enough just how important this is.  A blocked vent is bad news for you, your dryer, your unit and the moisture build-up that this can cause.

Quiet Zone Update - For all the latest information regarding the Railway Quiet Zone in Downtown please visit the Quiet Zone website at www.quietzonesd.info   There have been several new developments re the Quiet Zone since the City Hall meeting in July.  And whenever you have a problem with Train Horn noise always file an incident report on that website.  It really does make a difference.

No more warehouses - The last remaining warehouse in the Marina neighborhood is about to become history.  What has been dubbed as an eyesore is now finally being dismantled.  You may have noticed that the building at the se corner of First and Island is coming down.  Your editor has received word that BOSA is moving forward with plans to build a tower on that property.  Formerly dubbed the KUSI building a new tower will rise at this location.  We will keep you informed as we get more information.

My apologies for the gap between this newsletter and the last one.  My brand new computer decided to die and now it is well again.  Pictures will also be included once again in the next edition.

Well folks, that's it for this edition of the Pinnacle Tower News.  Remember - stay in touch with one another and get to know your neighbors.  We have some pretty terrific people in the Pinnacle Tower.
