The Sky has broken !

No - the sky isn't falling but there was a SkyBreaking Ceremony to celebrate the construction of the much anticipated Children's Museum.

On the morning of June 8 Kay Wager, Executive Director of the Children's Museum welcomed residents and dignitaries to this special celebration.  Click here to see additional pictures of the event. v

Clean At Last !  - Window Washing almost complete

This project began in late May and we are all enjoying the benefits of clean windows.  The work began on the Front St side of the building and has been moving clockwise. v

Open for Business

Vertical Village Realty

Immediately following the festivities celebrating the construction of the Children's Museum, Ron Ryan hosted an old fashioned Ice Cream Social at his newest office in the Pinnacle Tower on June 8.

That same evening there was a champagne & appetizers reception to celebrate the opening of his second office.

"We have forms for ordering tiles that will be placed in the new Children's Museum. This is a worthy cause and the forms are available for pickup. We are doing everything possible to support the Museum including giving a portion of every closing to the Museum," said Ron.  Click here to see more photos.  And visit their website at www.verticalvillagerealty.com .

Richard Walker's Famous Pancake House

On the evening of June 13 Richard Walker hosted a Food Tasting & Champagne Celebration at his newest restaurant.

As part of the celebration there was entertainment and lots of conversation.  And the food was DELICIOUS.

Richard's reputation as a restaurateur obviously precedes him considering the lines that form to dine at his newest eatery.  Click here for more photos.

CPR / AED TRAINING
FOR PINNACLE RESIDENTS, FAMILY, NEIGHBORS & FRIENDS

We have been able to secure an on-site CPR & AED training class on Saturday, July 15, 2006 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the amenity room at The Pinnacle.  This life saving class will cover basics of CPR and the use of our AED equipment.  Any and all are welcome – friends, family, neighbors and residents.   The cost is $50 per person.  Pre-registration is required.  Please e-mail or call Ken Hawkins no later than July 13 to sign up:  ken.hawkins@cox.net or 619/233-7978.

Many thanks to Karen McElliott and Project Heartbeat for helping to set up this important class, and for the donation of the AED device!  Pinnacle safety and concierge staff will be trained as well.

You will never know when this critical information could become necessary.  Take advantage of this convenient and cost effective training.  The information could help you save a life!

Cleaning Balconies

Apparently someone in the building did not understand the concept of where water goes.  Shortly after our window washing project began there was a resident in the building who decided to wash his balcony with lots and lots of water.  Unfortunately that act undid several windows that had to be re-cleaned.  Be aware that balconies are never to be washed in such a manner as to cause water to flow out the drains and onto units below.  If you have any questions about the proper procedure for cleaning your balconies contact our facility director.

From our Facility Director & the Board:

Recyclables & Trash

Please note that the recyclable room is now off-limits and a new recycle bin (the white one shown in the picture) has been positioned at the loading dock next to Walker's Pancake House trash bin (the blue one).

All Pinnacle residents are advised to use this recycle bin properly.  All cardboard boxes must be broken down & flattened before placing them in the bin.  And ONLY items that will fit into the bin are to be brought to this location and placed into the bin.  All other items that cannot fit into this bin must be disposed of by the homeowner, NOT the Pinnacle HOA.  Violators will be fined.   The former recyclable trash room will be converted into office space for our management staff at some point in the future.  One of the residents actually dropped off doors expecting someone else to dispose of them.

Crash Test ?

Not exactly.  This one occurred on the morning of June 29, 2006 and fortunately no one was hurt.  The pickup truck however did not do so well upside down.  And though it may look like the white car was not spared it managed to not even show a dent.

Does anyone know how this accident happened?

It was quite a sight from my 8th floor balcony.

More Friendly Reminders from our Facility Director

Garage - Please do not leave your shopping carts in the parking spaces. We see lots of them every month when we do our walk thru. Remember - parking spaces are for vehicles only.

Dogs - Also there is a lot that needs to be said about how to be a responsible dog owner in a high rise. Dogs should be on leash before they leave the condo. No dogs on the second floor – period. Dogs are urinating in elevators, lobby, entrance ways, corridors!  Some buildings have gone to a pet free policy due to irresponsible dog owners; if people enjoy having dogs they need to remember that it could come to that if they don’t control their dogs.  We have many responsible and thoughtful dog owners.  This message is for those who need to know how important it is to keep our home clean and sanitary for all of us who life here.  PLEASE - take care to control your dog accordingly.

Deliveries - Deliveries need to be scheduled in advance & not the same day. A week ahead at the minimum would be in your best interest because the dock and elevator are BUSY!

Keep the Lint OUT - Amanda reminds everyone to please remember to clear your interior dryer vents (not just the ones inside your dryer but also the one in the wall).  It cannot be stressed enough just how important this is.  A blocked vent is bad news for you, your dryer, your unit and the moisture build-up that this can cause.

From the "Did you know" files....

And did you know that units 2701 & 2704 are being combined to make a single unit?  The new unit will be nearly 4300 sq ft (excluding the SIX balconies) !!  Now that's elbow room.  That brings the number of combined units in the Tower so far to at least 4.  The other three are 3501 & 3502, 3001 & 3001, and 602& 603.

From the Oops Files...

Did you notice that the freight elevator is the smallest of the 4 elevators?  And yet the blueprints showed that it was supposed to be the largest.  Hmmm

And then there is this one  - Did you know that some "surplus" parking spaces were sold to more than one party?   As you may have heard - Michael DeCotiis had some "extra" parking spaces to sell and some of the Pinnacle residents availed themselves of the offer to purchase them at a cost of $60,000 per 2 spaces.  The matter is now being sorted out.

Gin Anyone?
