v Minutes from the April 20 Board Meeting have been posted to our website v There is a lot of reading in this edition of the Pinnacle Tower News so you may want to print this out, grab your favorite beverage and sit back and read at your leisure. A great time was had by all.... Our very first homeowner party was a huge success by all accounts. Over 125 residents and guests partied and dined on the night of May 5th. The Social Committee is to be commended for a great job and all of the members of that committee thank all of you for attending. The Lucky Winner of the Hot Tamale Margarita and Movie Tix Contest was Pinnacle resident, Mary Bashore, who hit it on the nose...1001 Hot Tamales! CONGRATS to Mary. There were 4 runners up who missed it by ONE hot tamale. Four different residents guessed 1,000! So close but yet so far. And great big thank you to our own Pinnacle resident Marriott Pastry Chef Extraordinaire, Rudy Weider, who filled the amenity room with a magnificent spread of incredible desserts!! Many thanks from your many grateful neighbors at the Pinnacle. Editor's note: I just gained 10 pounds writing about this party. v ![]() Welcome to Concierge at Large The Staff of CAL are anxious for you to avail yourselves of the many services they can provide you as residents of the Pinnacle Tower. To see just what all they can do for you visit our website www.pinnacletower.org and click on Concierge on the Contacts page. v Large packages cannot be accepted at the front desk due to package room size restrictions. Because of space constraints we ask for your cooperation. If you are away from the Pinnacle for weeks or months at a time you are asked to please have your packages delivered to a location where you can readily pick them up. We just do not have any space for long term storage. v

The new kid on the block is finally on the way
The shell of the museum will be constructed within the next 4 to 6 months. During certain periods in that phase of construction some owners will need to temporarily relocate their cars in order to accommodate safety requirements for this part of the construction. If you have any questions, please contact our facility director. v Yes - that was an earthquake you felt. - A minor earthquake occurred at 5:13:36 PM (PDT) on Monday, May 8, 2006. The magnitude 3.6 event occurred 14 km (9 miles) WSW of Coronado, CA. The hypocentral depth is 14 km ( 9 miles). This editor is a native San Diegan and he can tell you that earthquakes are common in this region. Most of them are imperceptible. Now and then we get a significant jolt. Enjoy the ride. Another option is to move to other areas of the country and look forward to hurricanes, tornadoes, torrential downpours and snow (none of which is common to San Diego) v Clean At Last ! - Window Washing to begin - Window washing will commence on Monday, May 22 at approx 8am. The work will begin on the Market Street side of the building and should last for approximately one week. v During the first week of May our much antici-pated brand new glass covered bulletin boards were installed in the elevator lobbies of P2 & P3. Editor's Note - Perhaps Homeowner Accessible Cork Boards just outside the elevator lobbies on those levels will follow. Such boards have proven very effective elsewhere in downtown. v_____________________________________________________________ Lobby Entry RugsAlso in the first week of May our beautiful new Lobby Signature Entry Rugs with the Pinnacle Logo were installed at the 3 entry doors to our Lobby. Another step forward in the enhancement of our understated Lobby. vParking - Parking is now prohibited on the ground level & on P1. This is a liability issue as those parking spaces do not belong to the Pinnacle Tower. Please be advised that your vehicle will be subject to towing if you park anywhere else on the premises other than your own personal designated parking spaces on P2 &P3. vAnd speaking of parking... We have a request from Dane & Nancy Morton #1704. They would like to rent a parking space. They have 3 cars (one to transport Grandchildren) and would love to park it inside the building. Please call Dane at 619-277-7591 if you have a space to rent.
Guest Parking - NOT This has been a very frustrating issue for all of us and your board continues to negotiate to the extent possible with Mr. DeCotiis. Until further notice be advised that we do NOT have any designated guest parking at "San Diego's ultimate urban residence, unrivaled by any other in California." (Michael DeCotiis)Editor's Note - at the neighboring Marina Park Condos on State St it should be noted that no less than 37 guest parking spaces were provided by the developer & that was back in 1985! And yet we have NONE. Mr. De Cotiis what is so very wrong with this picture? vBeing a responsible Host - Please take care to monitor and control children when hosting a an event in our Amenity Suite. It was observed recently that during a homeowner sponsored party children were playing with the controls on the Sauna & Steam Rooms, turning them on and leaving them on (costing all of us in wasted electricity & wear and tear on our facilities). And under NO circumstances are pets allowed on the 2nd floor (including the pool area). This is for safety and heath reasons. Thank you for your consideration. v Skateboarders & Security - If you see skateboarders using our property to perform their tricks report them immediately to the Lobby. Unfortunately - some skateboarders are unscrupulous in their activity and cause considerable damage to downtown property. Until such time as we have anti-skateboarding clamps installed in our vulnerable areas this type of activity will continue. On more than one occasion skateboarders have been seen skating on our sloped granite walls on Market & on Front Streets. Add to that the lack of security cameras we have a real problem that needs attention. So.... report any such activity immediately.Construction & Repairs - Keeping in mind that our building has been occupied for only 8 months, continued construction and repairs in our Tower is to be expected. This means that during the day two of our 4 elevators will be busy handling contractors performing jobs throughout the building. The good news is that the elevators are now working better and the fobbing system is providing residents with access throughout the tower as requested. vHome Accessories - ![]() Towel bars are from the Taymor "florence collection": http://www.taymor.com/c01_bath_accessories/bath_florence_us.htm You can find/buy them by searching for TAY-04-73 in this page: http://www.knobdeco.com/page/KD/CTGY/Taymor-Bath-Acc Shipping is $10 (or free for orders over $150). Towel bars are $13 - $16 depending on size (18 - 30 inches). Interior door handle sets can be found at: http://www.weiserlock.com/Default.aspx?area=productseries&series=WelcomeHome&product_id=100080
In case you wondered where all the noise has been coming from during the day it is primarily coming from the commercial space on the ground floor. Construction is moving forward on the interiors of some of the commercial space in our building. Pictured here is the interior of the Northeast corner of the Tower. This is an exceptionally large space with 3 floors. Likewise the Northwest corner is a very large space with an elevator. No confirmation as yet on who will be occupying those spaces. v From the Building & Landscape Committee - Repairs are proceeding in the public areas of the residential floors and the committee members are continuing to monitor the progress. This is an ongoing project. Such things as faulty electrical outlets, lighting issues, wallpaper, painting etc are all being monitored. As noted in the April Board minutes Landscaping is another issue being carefully looked at. vSome final notes: Meet the Team - Our Star Team - On May 31 in the Lobby meet our Concierge staff and our Property Management team. Coffee & pastries will be served.Wine Tasting Part y - June 5th see our website & bulletin boards for details.Primary Election - June 6th - Cast your Vote. Don't Vote- Don't complain. Our website - your tool to information - use it often. www.pinnacletower.org All Board Members & Committee Members - Keep your webmanager informed so the information you want to share with the homeowners gets posted on the website. If you report it in writing then chances are it is worth posting on the website.Jim & Julie - Have gone to Italy for a much much deserved 2 week vacation.Well folks, that's it for another edition of the Pinnacle Tower News. Remember - stay in touch with one another. Pat McArron, editor ![]() |
